*This is a long-term substitute assignment starting January 2025 through April 2025.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain current license through state board and certification through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students on caseload in accordance to services stated in IEP (Individualized Education Program).
  • Perform activities during treatment sessions which target goals and benchmarks that are stated in IEP.
  • Maintain students' files and maintain daily notes for treatment sessions on each student.
  • Log treatment sessions on Easy IEP daily.
  • Provide training, consultation, and instruction to teaching staff on the use of equipment for the purpose of ensuring that it is used safely and that optimal benefits are achieved.
  • Attend weekly supervision with supervisor to review paperwork, challenging cases, etc.
  • Write annual review reports documenting each student's progress and review with supervisor.  Send annual reviews to appropriate staff person two days prior to the meeting so that documentation is available to parents.
  • Annually, under supervision of Occupational Therapist, update each student's goals and benchmarks on Easy IEP.
  • Be collaborative member of interdisciplinary TEAM which may include, but is not limited to, student's classroom staff, occupational therapist, speech therapist, physical therapist, principal, social worker, student adjustment councilor, family members, etc.
  • Attend annual review meetings with the interdisciplinary TEAM and report on student's progress demonstrating good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Write progress notes for each student on Easy IEP (elementary schools: trimester (three times yearly) and middle and high schools:  quarterly (four times yearly)).
  • Provide appropriate assistive technology and other various equipment to support student's success within the classroom.
  • Adapt school and classroom environment, tools and materials under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist for the purpose of improving function and facilitating student access to the curriculum and instructional activities.
  • Maintain treatment equipment and supplies in clean and proper working condition.
  • Attend monthly Occupational Therapy staff meetings.
