QUALIFICATIONS
- Massachusetts Certification in Special Education required
- A minimum of a master's degree in special education or a related field
- A minimum of one year of administrative experience.
- Demonstrated success leading strategic educational initiatives that result in measurable improved student achievement.
- Thorough knowledge of public education in Massachusetts, administration/supervision, and curriculum development.
- Demonstrated educational leadership with the ability to build consensus and process critical issues for decision making.
- Proven ability in curriculum development, supervision and organizational and strategic planning.
- Proven ability in budget preparation and line-item expenditure process.
- Proven ability to successfully communicate with parents, teachers and members of the community.
- Proven ability to work as part of a management team.
- Ability to perform and multi-task in a highly energized work environment
- Ability to withstand strong public and professional scrutiny
- Equipped with personal characteristics required to lead people through an intense change process

PERFROMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the daily operations of the TEAMS Program
- Provide leadership and support to staff, including teachers, aides, nurses, and therapists.
- Supervises and evaluates all professional, paraprofessional and administrative personnel within his/her area of responsibility.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a safe and effective learning environment.
- Ensure individualized education plans (IEPs) are developed, implemented, and regularly reviewed for all students.
- Collaborate with medical professionals to address the health and educational needs of students.
- Monitor student progress and adjust programs to meet changing needs.
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities to ensure staff are knowledgeable about best practices in special education and medical care.
- Promote a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Ensure the program complies with all federal, state, and local regulations, including IDEA and ADA.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required by district, state, and federal authorities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for families, addressing concerns and facilitating communication.
- Develop partnerships with community organizations to support program goals and student needs.
- Organize and participate in events to promote the program and enhance community understanding.
- Lead efforts to evaluate and improve program effectiveness.
- Implement data-driven decision-making processes to enhance student outcomes.
- Supervise and monitor the daily management and operations of the facilities and procedures.
- Reports on and recommends continuous improvements in the school’s administrative and instructional support programs, needs and services.
- Utilizes data management systems to collect, analyze and interpret data which focus on progress in student achievement.
- Responsible for the implementation of all School Committee policies and regulations within his/her area of responsibility

HOURS: Regular hours; 7:45-3:45 M-Th; 7:45-2:45 Friday
Summer and school vacation hours; 7:45-2:45 M-Th; 7:45-12:45 Friday
