Job Details
This position is part of the Commonwealth Preschool Partnership Initiative (CPPI) grant. The goals of this grant are expansion and access to quality preschool, building locally aligned quality, and equitable access to special education and inclusion. This position is subject to grant funding and is funded by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). This is a nonunion position. The therapist in this position will be a part of an itinerant team servicing children located at our community partner preschool programs. Occupational Therapists work extensively with students to provide direct occupational services. Therapists evaluate and diagnose students, develop treatment goals and objectives and work closely with teachers. Summer work is guaranteed yet optional for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current license through state board and certification through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Master’s degree preferred
- Early childhood and Urban experience preferred
- Spanish speaking helpful
- Clinical Fellows considered
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Occupational Therapists evaluate, diagnose, provide written reports, and determine student eligibility for communication services.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students on caseload
- Plan and implement standards-based Individualized Educational Plans, and 504 treatment plans.
- Monitor student progress and complete progress reports in accordance with requirements.
- Present evaluation/assessment results at Team Meetings and develop goals and objectives for treatment plans.
- Provide small group or individual therapy services for identified students
- Communicate orally and in writing with students, parents, and others, as needed.
- Work collaboratively with and provide consultation to teachers, to assist student’s needs
