Function of Position:
The Assistant Manager is responsible to the Store Manager in operating the store according to Company policies and procedures. In some situations, where store size and store need necessitates, the Assistant Manager position may be divided into two positions, one being comprised of operational responsibilities and duties and the other being comprised of administrative responsibilities and duties. The General Manager and/or Company officers will direct when this situation would occur.
Major Responsibilities:
- Ensure adequate inventory controls to balance purchases to sales to best serve the customers.
- Actively participate in all duties and tasks he/she supervises.
- Supervise store PIC to ensure consistent application of store policies and procedures.
- Ensure stock conditions, merchandising standards, POS standards, safety standards and product quality are upheld.
- Ensure correct procedures are followed while recruiting, hiring and training and supervising all stockers, courtesy clerks, POS, carry out personnel, cashiers, receiving clerks, office/bookkeeping staff and maintenance staff.
- Secure accurate and timely handling of cash, checks and other assets; audit, and ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Complete all government forms as authorized and display a general understanding of administering Company benefits. Ensure compliance with all personnel policies and procedures.
- Supervise and maintain point of sale (POS) sale systems and personnel.
- Responsible to maintain store and Company confidentiality to further our competitive edge.
- Assist in and support all store goals and objectives.
- Accountable through profit and loss statements in areas of direct responsibility.
- Supervise receiving and correct processing of all invoices and computer system according to Company policy.
- Maintain professional and business-like relationships through effective communications with customers, vendors, store/company management and store employees.
- Assist in the supervision of all store department managers and department performance.
- Assist Store Manager to achieve the budget through effective management of store facility, assets and personnel.
- Enforce compliance of department personnel on POS coordination of allowances, new items, price changes, discontinued items, etc.
- Perform any additional duties required by the Store Manager or corporate management.
- Comply with all applicable safety and security polices as set by Company, local, state and federal government.
- Comply with all Company policies in the performance of assigned duties and tasks.
- Confidentiality of all Company matters must be maintained.
REQUIREMENTS:
Prior experience preferred but not necessary.
