What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gardener/Landscaper position at Lynne Manning Fine Gardening?
WANTED: This is a great job for the right person! You are being paid to learn a trade! Experienced full time/part time gardeners to work in a small gardening crew maintaining gorgeous gardens around the mid coast (Rockland, Rockport, Camden mostly). This is a serious, professional gardening job. The applicant will know how to be GENUINELY KIND AND PLEASANT ON THE JOB, WILL TAKE AN INTEREST IN WORKING ON COMMUNICATION SKILLS, WHO ENJOYS BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH FELLOW CO-WORKERS, and TRULY KNOWS HOW TO BE PART OF A TEAM. The boss very much cares about the crew, but needs the crew to be totally serious about above virtues in caps. You will be in a friendly environment with other likeminded people, working outdoors with beautiful plants in lovely coastal locations.
You have to enjoy moving around and working with your body, love working outdoors, learning about horticulture, you will see many beautiful plants, and truly like working as part of a team effort. Please be totally honest with yourself, if you are not really an outdoor type of person, and you aren't use to physical activity or physical work, probably this is not the job for you.
The work season starts in April and ends first week of December. We have a good sized season so people can learn this trade, and enjoy working with plants and being outside as long as possible, and also make some money. It is crucial that the applicant can be committed and finish the entire work season. There are many beautiful locations to install and tend gardens. My business is in it's 29th year and has a very good reputation, so looking for someone who can be enthusiastic with quality workmanship who loves being outdoors, and has a passion for plants. I love what I do, and want everyone in the crew to have a good experience, so we can make it a very good season. Care of the gardens is done organically, no one is exposed to harmful chemicals. This is a "fine gardening" situation, so you will be doing hand work to flowers and other plants, the soil, etc.
Applicants should be no more than 30 minutes away (serious about that, don't apply if you are an hour away) from Camden-Rockport area. $22-27 per hour depending on how much experience you've had...
