THE COMPANY: Ours is a growing investment consulting firm located in Washington D.C. The firm’s clients are divided evenly between institutional (endowments, foundations and qualified plans) and global high net worth investors. Total assets are in excess of $1 billion.
As consultants, the firm receives no compensation from any managers it recommends. The firm seeks clients who are committed to superior long-term risk-adjusted performance and rigorous risk management. The firm uses both traditional and alternative investment vehicles for its clients, including separately managed accounts, mutual funds and limited partnerships. Services include asset allocation, manager selection and performance monitoring.
THE POSITION:
Responsibilities:
- Meet with clients to determine their financial objectives and risk tolerance;
- Provide ongoing guidance to clients on investments and the financial strategies that will help meet their goals;
- Monitor clients’ accounts and determine if changes are necessary to improve financial performance;
- Be an active member of the firm’s investment committee and attend regular research meetings;
- Meet with clients quarterly- in person and/or on Teams to present quarterly reports;
- Business development with opportunity to increase compensation from client acquisition and retention;
- Hybrid work schedule;
- Some travel is required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field;
- Professional certifications such as CFA, CFP, or similar are highly desirable;
- 10 years of experience as an Investment Advisor or similar role is preferred;
- Experience working with both individual and institutional clients;
- Strong understanding of financial planning strategies and investment management;
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships;
- A series 65 qualification is necessary, but, if not already possessed, can be taken after employment;
- Must reside in Washington, DC metropolitan area
