Thompson Software Solutions is seeking a Principal Software Engineer who is ready to work with a talented team to provide innovative solutions for tomorrow's problems. This position requires a software engineer to use a wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the software field to develop, integrate, and test software products. The successful candidate will be a member of a high-performing multi-site team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills. In this role, you will work independently at times on projects, at other times will be in a collaborative team environment with other software engineers, as well as other program development and deployment teams.

Requirements
What We Need To See
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
- 8 years of C/C software development experience
- Prior experience writing software (C, C , and/or Ada)
- Experience with real-time operating system integration (e.g. Green Hills, Wind River, Lynx)
- Prior experience troubleshooting/debugging on target hardware in lab/mock-up environments
- Proficient with Linux and Windows development environments
- Familiarity with Agile/DevSecOps tools and CI/CD workflow (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)
- Ability to professionally communicate project status and collaborate on technical solutions with clients and peers
- Full lifecycle software development experience
- Clearance eligibility required
- 25% Travel required
- Salary Range: $170,000 - $200,000
- Proficient with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.)
- Proficient in Python development
- Linux kernel and system modules (PetaLinux on Ultra Scale )
- Familiarity with network architecture and data management
- Familiarity with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools (Cameo, AADL)
- Experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA), ARINC 653 and flight software development
- Experience with safety-critical software development and practices (DO-178C)
- Experience communicating and documenting complex technical designs
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
