**Job Description:**
We are seeking a skilled Custodian to join our team at Lyon County Kansas. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes harmony among employees, citizens, and customers.
- Perform various tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming hallways, stairs, office spaces, and other areas.
- Strip and refinish floors on all levels, clean carpets as needed, and perform other duties related to floor maintenance.
- Open and secure the facility, and ensure that all doors, windows, and glass surfaces are cleaned and maintained.
- Empties waste into proper containers and notifies supervisors of need for maintenance or cleaning supplies.
- Lifts up to 15 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally lifts more than 100 pounds.
- Works in moderate and extreme conditions both indoors and outdoors.
Requirements:
- Current Class C driver's license required.
- One to two years of experience in custodial services preferred but not required.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; attendance of training courses in related field recommended.
- Able to read, write, and speak English with ability to speak foreign language helpful.
- Able to work with mathematical concepts, read technical manuals, and write reports.
