**Job Overview:**

The Plant Lead at Lyon Metal Roofing's Radford, VA location plays a critical role in overseeing daily operations to ensure efficient, high-quality production of metal roofing products. Reporting directly to the Executive Plant Manager, the Plant Lead is responsible for supervising machine operators, managing workflows, maintaining safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a strong leader who can uphold Lyon Metal Roofing’s core values and foster a culture of teamwork and efficiency.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Team Leadership**: Supervise and mentor machine operators, providing direction, training, and support to enhance productivity and skill development.

2. **Production Oversight**: Ensure all equipment and processes run smoothly to meet production targets, monitor workflow, and address any operational bottlenecks.

3. **Quality Assurance**: Oversee quality control efforts to maintain high standards, including inspecting products and coordinating corrective actions as needed.

4. **Safety Management**: Enforce safety protocols across the plant, promoting a culture of safety and compliance with OSHA and company standards.

5. **Equipment and Maintenance Coordination**: Coordinate routine maintenance of machinery and equipment with the machine operators, addressing any issues promptly to minimize downtime.

6. **Cross-Training and Development**: Promote cross-training among team members to enhance versatility and resilience in production scheduling.

7. **Continuous Improvement**: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve operational efficiency, actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

8. **Documentation and Reporting**: Accurately track and document production metrics, safety incidents, downtime, and other key performance indicators, reporting to the executive team as required.

9. **Inventory Management**: Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, ensuring optimal stock to support production demands.

10. **Team Building and Communication**: Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, ensuring effective communication and cooperation among team members.

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or technical degree preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.64 - $19.59 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
