Shop & Machine Operator with Office & Sales Support Training

Lyon Metal Roofing is looking for a dedicated Shop & Machine Operator to join our team! This position will primarily involve hands-on work in our shop, operating machinery, assisting with production, and ensuring efficient order fulfillment. In addition, we will provide training in office and sales responsibilities so you can assist with customer orders and administrative tasks as needed.

Primary Role: Shop & Machine Operator

As a Shop & Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating production equipment, preparing customer orders, and maintaining an organized and efficient shop environment. You will play a key role in ensuring our metal roofing products are produced and handled with precision and care.

Shop Responsibilities:

• Operate machinery and equipment used in metal roofing production
• Assist with order fulfillment, packaging, and preparation for pickup or delivery
• Maintain stock levels, organize materials, and keep the shop clean and safe
• Load and unload materials as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines for shop operations
  
  

Secondary Role: Office & Sales Assistance (Training Provided)

While your primary focus will be shop work, we will train you to assist with office and sales tasks when needed. This includes taking orders in person or over the phone, providing customer support, and handling basic administrative duties.

Office & Sales Responsibilities (As Needed):

• Take customer orders in person or over the phone
• Enter orders into the system with accuracy
• Provide basic product information and assistance to customers
• Process payments and ensure order accuracy
• Support the office team with light administrative tasks
  
  

Requirements:

• Willingness to primarily work in a shop environment, with occasional office support
• Ability to operate or learn to operate shop machinery
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines
• Basic computer and customer service skills for office assistance
• Team-oriented, dependable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced setting
  
  

Preferred Skills & Traits:

• Previous experience in machine operation or shop work is a plus
• Good communication skills for customer interactions
• Ability to adapt and assist where needed between shop and office duties
