Basic Function
The Program Inspector is responsible for overseeing inspection program activities at the site with an emphasis on the Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI), Corrosion Under Fireproofing (CUF), and Paint programs. This role involves daily support, coordination, and active involvement in the execution of inspection scope while ensuring that work is completed safely, effectively and efficiently.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manages the CUI, CUF and Paint programs
- Ensures all Mechanical Integrity activities are compliant with corporate, local, and regulatory requirements
- Works with the RBI Inspector to develop inspection scope and phase-in plan
- Ensures efficient use of contract resources so that the inspection scope is completed on time and within budget
- Develops annual CUI, CUF and Paint budget
- Supports mechanical integrity improvement initiatives at the site
- Mentors less experienced inspectors and provides guidance on various job functions
- Participates in auditing and benchmarking activities of the inspection program
- Assists with updating site procedures and standards to ensure compliance with Global Standards and ASME/API codes
- Reviews and optimizes inspection data management systems (Meridium)
Min. Qualifications
- A high school diploma or two year technical degree
- A minimum of 15 years of inspection experience in the refining, petrochemical or chemical process industries is required with at least 10 years as a unit inspector for an Owner/Operator.
- A minimum of 2 years of inspection program management such as CUI, CUF, Paint, SAI, etc.
- Certifications in at least API 510, 570, and 653
- Strong knowledge of inspection and repair requirements in API, ASME, NBIC and state/local regulations (such as boiler codes/laws) is required.
