Basic Function
High Voltage Maintenance Technicians are tasked to apply electrical expertise daily to insure the safe and reliable operation of site process plants while reduce operating costs. This is accomplished thru executing assigned work according to plan and schedule, noting any job plan deviations, and providing input on improvement opportunities.
Roles & Responsibilities
Accountable for personal safety, the safety of co-workers while promoting a safe work environment. Responsible for carrying out all work activities in compliance with federal and state environmental regulations.
- Technician will support routine maintenance, preventative maintenance and testing functions of high voltage equipment along with project coordination, installation of new systems and engineering support. The maintenance technician is responsible for switching, installation, acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration, system and component troubleshooting and documentation of electrical equipment associated with the plant.
- Technician will be responsible for emergency electrical maintenance support during non-working hours.
- Execute scheduled work by :
o Reviewing assigned job scopes for completeness and understanding.
o Acquiring all necessary parts, tools, and instructions prior to starting the job to maximize work efficiency.
o Following all necessary safety procedures and practices to isolate, clear, and work on plant equipment.
o Ensuring work is completed per company and industry standards.
o Working with equipment owner to complete task in a safe and timely manner.
o Updating supervisor on job progress and / or any problems encountered in completing the defined scope of work.
o Completing all documentation using a computerized maintenance management system.
Min. Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of field experience as an electrical technician performing maintenance activities on high voltage electrical distribution power systems is required. This working environment requires contact with persons from all departments within the company, therefore the candidate must possess good interpersonal skills to facilitate team decisions.

Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidate will possess a two-year degree in electrical, electronics or engineering.
Preferred candidates will have an associate degree or higher, military electrical training and experience, and / or completed an electrical related apprenticeship.
