Basic Function
The High Voltage Maintenance Engineer is a role in the LyondellBasell LaPorte site Reliability department. This engineer reports to the O&P Reliability Manager. The role focuses on the improving the reliability and performance of the high-voltage infrastructure used at the LyondellBasell LaPorte site, such as power generation, transmission, distribution, and industrial applications. It performs this through supporting capital projects that involve high voltage, addressing bad actors in high voltage systems, and supporting the implementation of the long-range plan for improving high voltage reliability at the facility.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Routine Maintenance : Perform regular inspections, testing, and maintenance of high voltage equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protective relays.
- Support Capital Projects : Assist in the planning and execution of capital projects involving high voltage systems. Ensure that reliability considerations are integrated into the design and implementation of these projects.
- Address Bad Actors : Identify and address recurring issues (bad actors) in high voltage systems to improve overall reliability and performance.
- Long Range Plan Implementation : Support the implementation of the long-range plan for improving high voltage reliability at the facility. Develop and manage high voltage reliability plans and prioritize work based on the cost of unreliability or threat.
- Safety Compliance : Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct safety audits and risk assessments.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair work. Prepare detailed reports for management.
- Preventive Maintenance : Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of high voltage equipment and prevent unexpected failures.
- Emergency Response : Respond promptly to high voltage equipment emergencies and provide technical support during critical situations.
- Training and Development : Provide training to maintenance staff on high voltage equipment and safety procedures. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Continuous Improvement : Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
