Role Description
Regional consumer credit collection law firm Lyons, Doughty & Veldhuis, PC / PA seeks a full-time Maryland attorney to handle all phases of litigation and to review documents, pleadings, motions and correspondence for accuracy and compliance with applicable statutes, rules and regulations. The associate must be detail oriented with effective time management and communication skills and possess the exemplary professional judgment necessary to independently evaluate cases throughout all stages of litigation, including intake, motions and trials. Attorney will be appearing in court on behalf of our high profile national clients and is expected to advocate effectively on their behalf, while treating adverse parties with dignity and respect.
In the past, this has been an entry level role with training provided, however candidates with legal experience will also be considered. The position offers opportunity to grow with our firm. Work is contingent with no billable hours tracked. Salary is negotiable based on experience and admissions to other states where the firm operates (NJ, DE, OH, KY). Salary offering assumes no experience.
Attorney will work fully remote from a home office, with option to visit our main office in Marlton, NJ for training as needed. Attorney will be expected to make in person court appearances throughout each county in Maryland.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have :
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Maryland
- Courtroom experience a plus
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Dependability, reliability, and the ability to work well with minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation for frequent court appearances
- Priority will be given to applicants with additional admissions to the bars of NJ, DE, OH and / or KY.
