Position Overview: As a part-time optician at Lyons Optometry, you will work closely with our patients, assisting them in selecting eyeglasses, fitting lenses, and providing expert advice on eyewear and eye care products. You will be an integral part of our team, ensuring that each patient leaves satisfied with their eye care experience.
Key Responsibilities: Assist patients in selecting the right frames and lenses based on their prescription, lifestyle, and preferences. Provide accurate fittings for eyewear and educate patients on proper care and maintenance. Adjust and repair eyewear as needed. Collaborate with optometrists to ensure prescriptions are accurate and fulfill patients' needs. Handle customer inquiries, provide product recommendations, and promote additional services such as contact lenses. Maintain an organized and welcoming environment for patients. Keep track of inventory, order supplies, and ensure eyewear displays are well-stocked and visually appealing. Assist with administrative tasks such as processing payments, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records.
Qualifications: Previous experience as an optician or in a related customer service role is preferred. Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. Knowledge of optical products, lenses, and frame selection is a plus. Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Willingness to learn and stay updated on the latest optical trends and technologies. High school diploma or equivalent; certification from an accredited optician program is a plus but not required.
Schedule: 2-3 days a week during the months of July-November 2025. Fill in hours for an on-going basis. No weekends.
