Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs all foremen, employees, and contract maintenance to properly plan and execute maintenance of all facility assets while complying with accepted safety procedures and the union contract.
- Evaluates the conditions of all facility milling, packaging, and material handling production equipment and recommends scheduling and overseeing of major maintenance.
- Reports to the plant General Manager daily, discussing maintenance activities, production levels, and problems while providing input for solutions.
- Reviews and approves preventative maintenance, production, and other reports prepared by subordinates.
- Maintains the workplace in a manner to ensure safe operations and minimize MSHA citations.
- Monitors budget performance and directs operations to maintain acceptable variances.
- Develops and executes electrical projects or electrical portions of projects.
Work Environment
- Must be able to work productively in a group environment.
- Must be able to work additional hours as required.
- Must lift up to 50 pounds, wear PPE, navigate in and out of offices, and work in very hot, cold, or wet outdoor environments.
