Key Responsibilities :
- Deep understanding of carbon allotrope structural, chemical, and electronic properties.
- Knowledge of nanocomposites and metamaterials.
- Hands-on experience in a laboratory environment, ideally with special focus on working with carbon materials.
- Knowledge of electronic transport in non-crystalline and non-homogeneous materials, such as nanocomposites, polymer nanocomposites and amorphous materials
- Expertise in several experimental techniques for nanocomposites, including SEM, XPS, XRD, BET for surface characterization, Raman, FTIR, Hall Effect, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) for phase transitions, Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) for thermal stability, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), Computed Tomography (CT), and four-point probe resistivity.
- Strong foundation in experimental physics, chemical physics, or material science.
- Proven experience with engineering of electronic properties of materials.
- Comprehensive understanding of band structures, E(k) diagrams. [LG1]
- Robust understanding of the dielectric function both in bulk and surface effects.
- Knowledge of surface physics and surface phenomena, including surface electronic transport and adhesion. Perform surface modification of carbon allotropes and other 2D and 3D materials[LG2] .
- Familiarity with defects, such as impurity states, material interfaces [LA3] [PK4] and their effects on electronic transport.
- Demonstrated ability to convert scientific ideas into practical applications.[LG5]
- Analyze data using Matlab, JMP, Python or similar.
- Quality mindset towards reproducible experiments, processes and results.
- Support integration and field testing of novel materials including product concepts and rapid prototyping
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and safety-conscious, with a proven ability to work independently and creatively in teams. Skilled at managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.

The expected base salary range for this position is between
128,200.00 - $192,400.00
The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and / or education, or particular skills and expertise.

The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and / or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable)
