Primary Purpose:
As a key member of our team at Lytle, you will be responsible for facilitating Annual, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, ensuring the timely completion of required ARD paperwork, and monitoring the implementation of individualized education plans (IEP). You will also facilitate communication with parents and staff to ensure effective collaboration and student success.
Qualifications:

- A Bachelor's degree
- Texas Teaching Certification
- Special Education Certification
You will also possess:
- In-depth knowledge of state and federal laws related to educating students with disabilities
- Strong understanding of the individual needs of students with disabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to implement policies and procedures, interpret data, and analyze information
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management:
- Schedule or assist in scheduling ARD meetings, establish agendas, set meeting times, and develop guidelines for discussion
- Facilitate ARD committee discussions using effective facilitation techniques to promote collaboration and communication among committee members
- Ensure compliance with federal and state timelines for ARD committee meetings
- Maintain systematic communication between special and general education personnel regarding ARD meetings, Individual Education Plans (IEPs), student accommodations, and instructional concerns
- Support student achievement by delivering special education curriculum and instruction according to individual IEPs
- Evaluate student progress regularly and use findings to inform program improvements and make data-driven decisions
- Collaborate with teachers to address student achievement deficiencies and provide resources to promote satisfactory classroom performance
Instructional Support:
- Support district student management policies and expectations for student behaviors related to the special education program
- Use coaching skills to build staff capacity, provide technical assistance, and support innovation in teaching practices
- Provide orientation to new staff on procedures for implementing the campus ARD process
Communication and Community Relations:
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with principals, teachers, staff, and parents through active support and promotion of innovative educational initiatives
- Serve as parent liaison in matters related to student assessment, program eligibility, and IEPs
- Articulate the district's mission and goals in special education and solicit support for realizing these objectives
Policy, Reports, and Law:
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and documents as required
- Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and local board policies in special education, making recommendations for program improvement
Other:
