In this role, you will lead efforts to drive excellence across Lytx outsourced manufacturing suppliers, ensuring exceptional product quality and operational efficiency. You will oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of engineering and quality control systems in close collaboration with hardware engineering. Working alongside cross-functional teams, you'll focus on improving product consistency and cost-efficiency. Additionally, you'll lead a team of Supplier Engineers and Quality Engineers to develop and execute strategies that establish and maintain a robust, end-to-end quality system. This includes sustaining supplier performance and driving continuous improvements within the Lytx supply base and manufacturing environment. To succeed, you’ll leverage your deep expertise in outsourced manufacturing of complex electronic products, quality assurance, and team management to support our growing business and foster ongoing improvements.

Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead the Manufacturing Quality & Engineering departments, defining and executing strategies to improve product quality, production efficiency, and safety. Foster a culture of continuous improvement through TQM and other best practices.
- Manufacturing Quality: Lead, track and improve Supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for design changes, new products and outsourcing initiatives. Lead Supplier Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews. Lead the team in identifying quality risks, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
- Engineering Management: Guide engineering teams in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes, including automation, tooling, and production line design, to enhance product output and quality.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Device Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure quality is integrated throughout the product lifecycle from development through to final production.
- Process Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives across all manufacturing sites. Drive key metrics (e.g., yield, throughput, defect rates) to meet or exceed set targets. Utilize data-driven decision-making to solve complex engineering and quality challenges.
- Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure adherence to applicable regulatory standards, internal policies, and industry best practices. Lead audits and inspections to ensure full compliance with quality systems.
- Team Development: Mentor and develop engineering and quality assurance teams, ensuring strong performance, engagement, and professional growth. Build a high-performing culture with a focus on innovation, accountability, and customer satisfaction.
- Budget & Resource Management: Develop and manage budgets for engineering and quality departments. Allocate resources effectively to meet production goals while ensuring operational efficiency.
- Customer Focus: Collaborate with the customer support and product development teams to address customer feedback, resolve product quality issues, and improve the overall customer experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree and relevant certifications (Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing) is preferred.
- Experience: At least 12 years of experience in manufacturing quality and engineering roles, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position. Proven experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control methodologies, and regulatory requirements. Expertise in TQM or other quality management systems. You understand the value of methods such as 8D, 5-WHY, Pareto Charts and Fishbone Diagrams because you have achieved measurable results by using them and influencing others to do the same. Proficiency in ERP systems and data analytics tools.
- Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the manufacturing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, high performance, and accountability. Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and drive change across an organization. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in hardware and software is highly preferred.
