Supply Chain Planner
Job Summary:
This role is responsible for ensuring continuous supply of pre-production & engineering materials to support new product development and customer demands.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for initial procurement of materials and assembly of engineering samples and raw stock builds.
- Manages inventory of raw materials, finished goods, prototype samples, allocation and shipment of customer samples and conversion of raw stock builds to production.
- Ensures pricing is consistent with the quoted price and continuously drives creative solutions to reduce assembly cost, i.e. minimize the number of splits per build and ensure purchase transactions are carried out in a timely manner.
- Monitors engineering builds, WIP and backlog and performs analysis to proactively identify potential material shortages and carry-out solutions.
- Collaborate with the stakeholders and participate in projects with team meetings to ensure effective communication of complex situations both internally and externally.
- Works with engineering teams to define Bill of Material product structure and manage integrity of BOM and ensures work instructions are clear and concise.
- Working globally with contract manufacturers and suppliers to facilitate issuance of build instructions and takes appropriate actions and manage day-to-day build schedules.
- Works with the Product Line Managers (PLM) to fill engineering samples and preproduction orders.
- Accountable for on-time delivery to material to internal and external customers.
- Represents NPI Planning in team meetings.
- Must work independently and communicate with all levels of management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in business or related field.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new computer applications.
- Proficiency in completing analysis work in Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.
- Team player that has a high level of flexibility and will work toward common goals inter-departmentally and across functions.
- Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking, with the ability to work in a fast-paced setting and manage assignments with tight deadlines from multiple engineering sources.
