Job Overview
M&A Energy, a leading provider of well servicing solutions and P&A services, is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Derrick Rig Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating derrick rigs and associated equipment, ensuring efficient and safe well service operations. This role requires hands-on expertise, a strong commitment to safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate derrick rigs and associated equipment to perform well servicing and P&A tasks, including pulling and running tubing, rods, and downhole tools.
- Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot derrick and rig equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in rigging up and rigging down operations at well sites.
- Collaborate with rig crew members, including floorhands and supervisors, to execute jobs efficiently and safely.
- Monitor well conditions and equipment performance during operations, reporting any issues to the rig supervisor.
- Adhere to all company policies, industry regulations, and OSHA safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of operations as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Derrick Rig Operator or similar role in the well service or oilfield industry.
- Strong understanding of workover rig operations and derrick equipment.
- Valid Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record (preferred).
- Willing to work 60-70 hours per week.
- Physical fitness to handle the demands of the job, including climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working at heights.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Current well control certification (e.g., IADC or IWCF) is a plus.
- Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating hazards.
