Job Overview :
A Radio Frequency (RF) Technical Specialist 2 position may include Testing Plans, Field Coordination, Commissioning, Testing, Troubleshooting, Design Documents Coordination and Development, Construction Documents Coordination and Development, Bids & Proposals Support and other tasks as needed for RF Systems. The position will require the Technical Specialist to work in an office environment, existing customer locations and construction sites. The primary role of the RF Technical Specialist is to assist the field team on installations and documentation, coordinate with project leadership, the engineering department, customers, trades contractors, and manufacturers to ensure a successful project from design to commissioning.
RF Technical Specialist should understand Distributed Antenna Systems, Radio Systems and Wi-Fi systems and how they operate. Be familiar with installing various forms of RF cabling, headend equipment, and field devices in accordance with applicable specifications, codes, and industry standards. An RF Tech Specialist shall have prior experience in the field and be able to use hand tools, power tools and test equipment in the performance of the job. RF Technical Specialists are full-time employees with company benefits.
Job Requirements
Hands-On Requirements include, but are not limited to :
- Basic Knowledge and Safe Use of hand tools and various power tools
- This position will require 20%, or less, of hands-on work in the field.
- Knowledge and use of RF Testing Equipment.

- Reading Floor Plans and Block Diagrams.
- Implementing, installation, commissioning testing and troubleshooting of in-building Wireless Systems such as DAS, Radio Systems, WiFi, Small Cell networks.
- Implementing and installing commercial low voltage cabling applications and associated equipment such as :
o Radio Equipment : Base stations, radios, filters, combiners, and splitters
o Prefabricated Components and Assemblies : antennas and jumpers
o Installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting of various types of Low Voltage cables and connectors such as RG6, LMR400, 1 / 2”, 7 / 8” Coax, Category 6, and Fiber optic cabling.
