M&C Tech Indiana in Washington, IN is looking for one night shift group lead to join our 50 person strong team. We are located on 1928 Technology Dr.. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and engaged.
Position Overview
Responsible for the oversite of plant production, leading team members, and training new employees. The Group Lead will be responsible for the Assembly, Quality, and Extrusion department. This will include starting, operating, ending, stopping and cleaning the machines. Problem solving techniques. This will also include packaging finished products and inspecting the product to ensure it meets our highest quality standards.
Essential Job Functions:
- Works in a manufacturing environment emphasizing teamwork, safety, training and discipline.
- Supervise and coordinate daily production.
- Assist process engineers in troubleshooting.
- Assist in repairs as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment.
- Provide technical assistance to team leaders and operators during start-ups, changeovers and power failures.
- Monitor production, winding and creeling to ensure quality.
- Lead by promoting safety, quality and teamwork throughout the department.
- Train existing and new employees on operation of extruders.
- Assist in production line.
- Feed or place items onto equipment for processing.
- Load and unload items from the machine, cards and dollies.
- Mix, measure and pour ingredients.
- Regulate valves to regulate flow of liquids or gas.
- Works with team to improve standardized processes and methods.
- Directly responsible for performance of assigned work area.
- Works in a team environment on safety, quality, productivity and cost improvement projects.
- Completes all working documentations, records and reports as requested.
- Understands and follows all company policies and procedures.
- Be proactive and reactive to resolve abnormalities in the process.
- Uses key performance indicators as a method of continuous improvement.
- Ability to work with company management to concerns, issues or other matters.
- May lead or direct team member activity.
- May attend training as assigned.

Work Conditions:
- Open office environment, moderate to loud noise.
- Standard automotive plan environment with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protecting, etc. Personal attire standards may apply.
- Ability to walk or stand for extensive periods of time.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle and feel.
- May occasionally be required to lift, up to, 60 pounds.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One (1) to two (2) years manufacturing environment experience or related field preferred.
- Additional technical certifications are preferred.
- Previous exposure to a multicultural office environment a plus.
