M&C Tech Indiana in Washington, IN is looking for one production manager to join our 50 person strong team. We are located on 1928 Technology Dr.. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and engaged.
Position Overview
The production manager is responsible for developing and executing plans to meet customer product delivery requirements. This includes but is not limited to production schedule and quantities by operation, raw material inventory and order management and support of various other activities up to and including product shipment. The role must be carried out with heavy emphasis on Quality, Cost and Delivery.
Essential Job Functions:
- Production planning and scheduling: Creates detailed production plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and work orders to meet production targets.
- Demand forecasting: Manages and maintains appropriate inventory levels by closely monitoring past order data, economic information, seasonal factors and competitors’ condition
- Inventory Control: Grasps and manages inventories for each product to avoid surplus or shortages of inventory.
- Resource management: Manages monthly inventory levels of raw materials, ensuring timely procurement, and optimizing equipment usage. Develops and communicates purchasing plans and forecasts to all effected departments
- Quality: Works closely with the Quality and Production departments to assist in quality improvement activities. Help to assure proper defect management and containment policies are followed.
- Cost control: Tracks production costs, identifying areas for cost reduction, and managing budgets effectively.
- Safety compliance: Supports safety regulations and procedures within the production environment to prevent accidents.
- Performance monitoring: Analyzes production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Continuous improvement: Implements initiatives to streamline production processes, optimize workflow, and enhance productivity.
- Communication and collaboration: Collaborates with other departments like sales, maintenance, and engineering to ensure smooth production flow.
- Process Planning: Works closely with the Plant Manager and others to develop process plans that support production scheduling requirements.
Personal/Technical Skills:
- Candidate should have strong computer skills. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential.
- Solid communication skills. Able to interact professionally with internal and external customers.
- Strong math and analytical skills will be beneficial.
- Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment is a plus
- Individuals must be detail oriented, possess leadership skills and be able to adapt to changing work situations.
- Problem-solving abilities to address production issues promptly
Work Conditions:
- Open office environment, moderate to loud noise.
- Standard automotive plan environment with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protecting, etc. Personal attire standards may apply.
- Ability to sit, walk or stand for extensive periods of time.
- May occasionally be required to lift up to 40 pounds.
Education:
- High School Diploma is required.
Experience:
- 2-4 years’ experience managing production schedules and resources or other equivalent experience
- Training or applicable experience with automotive APQP documents, PPAP submittals, etc. is preferred
- Automotive or plastics injection or extrusion experience a plus.
- Previous exposure to a multicultural office environment a plus.
