CNC Plasma Operator

Set up and operate CNC Plasma or Waterjet cutting table. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Perform a variety of duties including grinding, deburring, cleaning of parts, cutting and removal of scrap. Extensive use of overhead cranes to move materials and parts as needed. Accurately complete all paper work associated with the position. Perform other task as assigned in support of fabrication operations. Our CNC Plasma Table and Waterjet Operators must be competent and able to work independently.

Duties and responsibilities

• Operate CNC Plasma table or CNC Waterjet
• Maintain a clean work area
• Read, understand and comprehend basic blueprints and drawings
• Must be able to use basic measuring devices, including a tape measure
• Must be able to complete quality control paper work accurately
• Prioritize work assignments
• Follow all safety rules
• General maintenance of all equipment associated with the operation of the CNC Plasma table or CNC Waterjet
• Perform all necessary production work as part of the manufacturing process according to the work instructions
• Perform all necessary quality checks during production and follow procedures when defective parts are discovered

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in operating fabrication equipment a plus
• Ability to comprehend and execute verbal and written instructions
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment

Working conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Physical requirements

The employee is frequently required to stand/walk; squat/kneel; twist/turn; reach overheard and outward, and stoop, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee must be able to wear a fit-tested respirator if required.

Direct reports

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Position type/ expected hours of work

This is a full-time position. Work schedule is Monday through Friday with overtime as required.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.
