What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Coordinator position at M-D Building Products?
M-D is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Site Safety Coordinator to join our Environmental Safety team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in administering and implementing comprehensive safety programs, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment for all. This candidate will offer administrative and technical advice to supervisors and employees on safety control mechanisms; and Ensure compliance with all federal and state safety laws, regulations, and company procedures.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct powered industrial truck training (forklifts, powered pallet jacks, scissor lifts)
- Implement safety programs and ensure they are being followed
- Conduct safety observation reports on a regular basis
- Attend safety walks and inspections before or during each project to analyze safety risks
- Educate employees on safety standards and expectations as well as safe machinery operation
- Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace
- Investigate accidents that occur onsite and identify possible causes of the accident
- Maintain documentation of the company's safety procedures, accidents and related events
- Coordinate and / or facilitate engaging classroom and virtual training.
- Track employee training progress with regards to new and continuous safety training.
- Collaborates with EHS Director and department leadership to document changes to standard work processes.
