Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Basic math knowledge including fractions is required for an accurate tape measure reading.
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Preferred: Able to pass Forklift certification and LP gas certification tests
Work Requirements
- Physical activity includes: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
- Physical requirements: Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to lift / load up to 100 pounds from ground level to a height of approximately 4 feet.
- Visual acuity requirements: Lumber team members are required to have the visual acuity to accurately measure and cut building materials. They must be able to operate machines such as forklifts, LPG filling equipment, and power saws where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach as well as performing mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature such as a carpenter, plumber, painter, mechanic, etc. Lumber team members are required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment. They are required to have acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned and make general observations of facilities or structures.
- Required Equipment operations: Lumberyard team members must operate various cutting saws, Forklift, LPG filling station, pallet jack. Must be able to climb up and down ladders using 3 points of contact.
Working conditions
- Lumber team members are subject to a variety of physical and environmental conditions. Their work activities occur inside and outside. They are subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. They are subject to extreme cold and heat including temperatures above 100 for periods of more than one hour.
