Architect

M. Designs Architects is an award-winning architectural firm, with headquarters located in the heart of Silicon Valley. Our portfolio includes sustainable custom homes, spec homes, multi-unit residences, and small to mid-size commercial projects.

We are looking for a Sr. Architect / Designer to lead our satellite office in Reno and Lake Tahoe area. The primary responsibilities of this position include:

• Manage all aspects of project coordination and collaboration with clients, contractors, and vendors (Including Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineers, Lighting consultants, Audio Visual consultants, Landscape Architects, Civil consultants, and others as required for the project) to ensure proper integration with the design and material specifications.
• Work with the drafting team in preparing detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for construction according to specifications using Revit.
• Support local and off-site design team as and when needed

• Assist the Principal Architects in keeping the team organized by planning and directing various phases of the project
• Ensure compliance of construction documents and details to meet code and best practices.
• Review accuracy of calculations, square footages, building code, zoning, and city ordinance compliance, plans, and completed reports
• Assist in multiple aspects of client, project coordination, and general contractors including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape and civil consultants
• Provide coordination of design development and construction documents on multiple projects
• Coordinate with the project team including architects, drafters, and consultants to meet scheduled deliverables
• Supervise the technical work of production staff and review their drawings
• Develop project design budgets and schedules
• Be the project coordinator for clients for construction administration support

Skill sets required:

• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Knowledge in production and detailing of construction document
• Proficiency in Revit with 5 years of experience a must
• Experience in AutoCAD, Sketchup, MS Office (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel),
• 10 years of experience within an Architectural or Design firm as a Project Architect or Job Captain
• 4-5 year professional college degree in Architecture highly preferred
• Ability to direct, mentor, and coordinate work efforts of project team
• Comfortable in support role and possess ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Experience in project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape and civil consultants
• Knowledge of California building codes, standards and building structure

Pay: $110,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
