Many of these programs are universally recognized as a part of “Best Management Practices” (BMPs) for utilities. Our headquarters is located in Valparaiso, Indiana, with multiple branch offices located throughout the country. We service hundreds of municipal clients located throughout the country, and have executed military contracts across the globe.
Work Location: Waukegan, IL
Field technicians for M.E. Simpson Co. normally work an 8 to 10 hour day Monday through Friday. This position will entail working throughout the United States for water and wastewater utilities & municipalities. There are times when work over a weekend or holiday may be required; the company does offer 24 hour on-call services that are rotated between all qualified technicians. The job involves manual labor, working with hand tools and specialized equipment, working outdoors in all weather conditions, terrain and travel. Career growth potential for those with strong leadership & communication skills.
Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of proportional math (decimals, fractions, percentages)
- Experience with water distribution or pipe installations preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with Computers and tablet PC’s (Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook)
- Ability to lift 75 lbs, help lift 150 lbs
- Walk 6-10 miles a day
- Standing 6-7 hours a day

The candidate will need to be certified in Confined Space Entry and Flagger Certification for traffic control or able to obtain these certifications. First Aid training is also preferred including CPR. Training will be provided during probationary period
