The Role: M&G Investments are looking for a Fund Manager Assistant to join the Fixed Income team in Chicago, USA. The role will provide day to day support of the Fund Managers, therefore requires someone with excellent communications skills to co-ordinate within the front office operations and multiple business areas within the organisation e.g., Compliance and Risk. Key Responsibilities for this role: Operational: Ensure the successful operational management of the portfolios through the effective implementation of daily operational controls and processes Maintain local procedure and policy requirements relating to the fund management business including creation and maintenance of ‘how to’ guides Understand operational challenges and work with management to mitigate risks and implement processes to improve key controls Represent the Fixed Income team when liaising and resolving issues with other departments e.g., Information Systems, RDL and Investment Operations Provide operational assistance to internal change projects to ensure requirements are captured and delivered to users Fund Manager Support: Assist the Fund Managers to ensure portfolios adhere to regulations and fund mandates by implementing operational controls Collaboration with the Risk and Compliance teams to ensure all internal and external rules are complied with and breaches are rectified through effective risk reporting and portfolio monitoring Assistance with the order generation, cashflow management, placings / new issues, compliance warnings on orders. Understand the roles and responsibilities of the wider FMA teams in London Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Knowledge of asset classes (Fixed Income, FX and/or Derivatives) A good understanding of investment products and the asset management industry Bright, enthusiastic and proactive.
