Summary
This paid accounting internship is designed to give students a realistic preview of the accounting role in a manufacturing environment, as well as provide exposure to and experience with special accounting and finance projects that will aid the company in growth and efficiencies. The intern must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have good communication skills while proactively promoting The McWane Way principles.
This position will serve the Accounting department for < 29 hours each week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
o 1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members
Projects to include:
o Fixed Asset Tracking
o Assisting fixed asset team in taking and uploading asset pictures into computer software
o Performing system audits on assets and updating accordingly
o Day-to-day Accounting Assistance
o Fill-in for Receptionist as needed
o Composing letters to external clients
o Data Entry where needed
o Other duties and projects may be assigned

Education and/or Experience
- Must be in the process of obtaining a degree in Accounting or Finance or related field
- Ability to work < 29 hours per week
- Strong written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel for data analysis - pivots, v-lookup; etc.
- Ability to communicate in emails and verbally in a professional, clear and concise manner
- Basic understanding of US GAAP
Language Skills
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Should be able to speak effectively to customers, management and/or other fellow employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
