Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse LPN performs a variety of professional nursing duties in compliance with the Comprehensive Home Care regulations and follows established policies and procedures for our beautiful and vibrant senior Independent and Assisted Living/Memory Care community in Sarasota, Florida.
This flexible schedule nursing position includes;
- Casual hours
- Days (7am-7pm)
- Nights (7pm-7am)
- At least 3 shifts per month, with one being a weekend shift
- At least one holiday shift per year

Responsibilities/Job Description
- Provides skilled nursing care such as; implementing practitioners’ orders, ordering and assisting with medications and supplies, operates medical equipment, and charting practices
- Lifts and transfer residents as needed
- Initiates emergency treatment as needed
- Monitors work and performance of unlicensed staff
- Updates RN with current observation and completes documentation of resident health status
- Communicates changes in residents conditions to relevant individuals
- May support RN by completing resident assessments, service agreements and care plans
Qualifications
Required:
- FL Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure by start date
- AHA (American Heart Association) BLS for Healthcare Providers or Red Cross CPR for Professional Rescuers
Preferred:
- Previous healthcare experience
- Comfortable using computers, hand held devices, phones and fax machine
