Job Overview
A Brief Overview This position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents' physical and emotional wellbeing. Assists/observes resident medication under the direction of the nurse.
Description:
- Assists resident with personal cares based on individual plan of care
- Observes residents and reports status to appropriate staff in a clear, concise manner
- Maintain order and cleanliness in residents rooms and other work areas
- Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed
- Follows all shift routines regarding measuring of vital signs, weights, and administration of medications and treatments
- Dispenses meds using the right route, medication, resident time, and dose
- Maintains an awareness of actual and potential side effects, adverse reactions, contraindications and purposes of medications
- Maintains a clean medication cart
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of required training and meet the state requirements for Medication Administration with a Med Tech Certificate from the State of FL ( 6 hour in-person course )
- Completion of Refresher Course each year if Med Tech Certificate is not from current year
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 0-1 years of experience
- Ability to work with a diverse and geriatric population
- Ability to communicate effectively with insight and kindness for others
- Experience working in a patient support role (HHA, PCA, DSP, NA, Resident Assistant)
- Work experience in a customer service setting
Qualifications
$20.64-$28.89 / Hourly
