Job Summary
The Houseman plays a key support role in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring the proper setup of guest areas, meeting rooms, and event spaces. This position is responsible for assisting the housekeeping or banquet team by transporting supplies, setting up rooms, and keeping public areas tidy and well-stocked.
Duties
- Deliver linens, towels, amenities, and other supplies to guest rooms or housekeeping staff as needed.
- Assist in setting up meeting rooms or banquet spaces with tables, chairs, linens, staging, and audiovisual equipment.
- Remove trash and used linens from guest floors or event spaces.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in hallways, storage areas, and public spaces.
- Respond to guest and team member requests in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
- Assist with deep cleaning projects and carpet cleaning as needed.
- Ensure all housekeeping carts and closets are stocked and organized.
- Support team efforts during high-occupancy periods or large events.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous hotel, housekeeping, or banquet experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift, pull, and push heavy loads (up to 50-75 lbs).
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
- Dependable and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
