M.I.C. INDUSTRIES, a 40 year young manufacturer of a unique, patented steel building systems, is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our team in Elton, PA (near Johnstown), M-Fr ( FT hours somewhat flexible). We have sold our sophisticated systems to all branches of the US government, and into over 70 countries worldwide, without a single product returned. We are currently experiencing a surge in orders – both new customers and repeat business - and staffing at nearly every position. Sourcing timely, quality products from our reliable vendor pool as well as seeking out new machine shops and reliable sources of supply are critical to meeting current and future contract obligations. While we are growing quickly, our existing management each has decades of experience to help any transition/training.
This position, while supported by an assistant buyer and able to grow the department as needed, is very hands-on. It requires at least five years’ experience finding and developing lasting, mutually rewarding vendor relations in a manufacturing environment. The qualified candidate will be a self-starter, highly motivated, who communicates with and works well and proactively with production planning, engineering, manufacturing and accounts payable personnel. We utilize Epicor, but if the candidate does not have experience with that particular ERP system, there is no problem. What we absolutely need is attention to detail, teamwork, research and negotiation skills, and the same “can do” attitude we all exhibit.
