Job Description – Controller

Reports to: CEO
Job Duties
Planning
Assist in formulating the company’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives.
Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans.
Develop financial and tax strategies.
Manage the capital request and budgeting process.
Operations
Participate in key decisions as a member of the Executive Administrative Team.
Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the Administrative Team.
Oversee all accounting activities.
Oversee the company’s transaction processing systems.
Implement operational best practices.
Strong knowledge of key organizational software and programs: QuickBooks, Excel, Paycor, Greenway.
Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package.
Financial
Oversee the issuance of financial information.
Report financial results to the Board of Directors.
Monitor the financial performance of the company.
Compile and analyze financial reporting packages.
Communicate financial metrics to senior management.
Risk Management
Maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
Ensure that recordkeeping meets the requirements of auditors.
Report risk issues to the CEO/Board of Directors.
Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
Funding
Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
Arrange for debt financing and equity financing.
Maintain banking relations.
Participate in conference calls with the investment community.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel to satellite offices as needed.
Physical Demands
This position requires the ability to lift, stand, sit, walk for extended periods of time.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
Accounting designation (CMA, CGA or CA), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
Minimum 7-10 years accounting experience in a financial management role.
Healthcare setting experience strongly preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
Self-motivated and self-directed
Ability to work closely with a senior management team
