The Mobile Diesel Technician is responsible for providing quality diagnostics and repairs for vehicles and trailers at customer locations, with a focus on safety. The role involves performing preventative maintenance, electrical repairs, and drivetrain work on customer equipment in the field using a mobile service truck.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs on vehicles and trailers.
Utilize a variety of materials, tools, and techniques for vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance.
Operate diagnostic electronic tools, leveraging basic computer skills to aid in troubleshooting.
Follow safety practices and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
Use power and hand tools effectively and maintain a personal tool inventory.
Maintain accurate records and reports of diagnostics, repairs, and service work performed.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with employees, customers, and other agencies.
Follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturer service specifications.
Manage parts and tool inventory within the mobile service truck.
Communicate findings and recommendations to customers, ensuring transparency and understanding.
Perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and engage in physical tasks that may involve twisting, bending, standing, and using both hands and arms.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy-duty truck repair.
Previous experience working as a mobile technician is preferred.
Valid CDL A or B license with a clean driving record (DMV report required).
Experience with Premium Tech Tool diagnostic systems is preferred.
Must possess necessary tools to perform job responsibilities.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Additional Requirements:
This is a full-time position.
Must be available for rotation on after-hours service calls, including weekends.
