The role of the Rental Manager is to proactively and systematically develop new direct business as a contributor toward company goals and revenue objectives.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
The following are the principal duties of the Rental Manager. They include but are not limited to the following:
Leadership and Management
- Represent company in a positive and professional manner.
- Work with all personnel and outside contacts to satisfy clients and achieve company goals.
- Identify areas of improvement in the company and assist in creating and implementing solutions.
- Keep up to date on market trends and new products.
- Identify and investigate growth opportunities for the company with our customers.
- Provide constructive feedback to department employees.
- Sell the company’s products and services and reach revenue quotas for existing customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Rental Manager is responsible for ensuring that they:
- Rental sales management: receives and processes all rentals sales and deliveries, manages rental, demo, and loaner inventory, and ensures fleet readiness.
- Manages incoming rental phone calls and messaging.
- Monitoring rental inventory and reports needed inventory.
- Coordinate repair orders of rental equipment.
- Attend weekly management meetings.
- Coordinate rental deliveries.
- General administrative support to the rental department.
- Ensures showroom and phone support for sales and rental customers.
- Assist with sales phone call overflow.
- Ensure rental forms, documents and procedures are up to date and in accordance with company policy.
- Strive to increase company rentals through prospecting.
- Performs sales follow ups of rental customer to ensure satisfaction. Develop plans for key prospects and close customer business.
- Submit quotes to customers and negotiate as necessary to secure the contracts.
- Track personal sales and report sales statistics and report on status of pending contracts.
- Work with Sales representatives to bring in new business.
- Work with Sales Manager to identify sales lead sources in a coordinated plan to improve results.

AUTHORITIES:
The following are principal authorities granted to the Rental Manager:
- Exercise the responsibilities and perform the duties of this position. This includes full decision-making authority for all responsibilities and duties.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
The Rental Manager reports to the Store Manager
The following positions report directly to the Rental Manager: Others may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Motivated and self-directed sales professional that can operate within proper guidelines.
- Exceptional communication skills, presentation, negotiation and management skills, strong business work ethic, positive attitude and professional demeanor required.
- Advanced MS Office skills and advanced networking and relationships in the industry.
- Must demonstrate competence in management, networking, target marketing to specific prospects, and have advanced selling skills.
- Proven people skills with effective experience in consultative selling
- Work under the guidelines and directives of the Sales Manager for all campaigns.
- Heavy Power Equipment Experience Preferred.
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE:
The following will be used to evaluate the performance of the Rental Manager:
- Regularly meets performance targets for Rental Plan activities.
- Regularly meets or exceeds quotas.
- On time performance, work ethic and quality of Personal Development Plans
- Provides accurate forecasts, updates and requested reports to Store Manager.
- Ability to lead by example.
- Management Objectives may be assigned to further measure and reward top performance.
Supplemental pay types:
- Bonus pay
- Commission in addition to salary
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
