Service Advisor Job Description:
Daily tasks, Roles, Duties and Responsibilities:
The Service Advisor quotes customer repair costs at a competitive rate that ensures department profitability and customer satisfaction and relays that information from customer to technician.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
The following are the principal duties of the Service Advisor. They include but are not limited to the following:
- Leadership and Management
- Represent company in a positive and professional manner.
- Work with all personnel to satisfy clients and achieve company goals
- Identify areas of improvement and assist in creating and implementing solutions
- Keep up to date on market trends and new products
- Identify and investigate growth opportunities for the company with our customers
- Provide constructive feedback to department employees
- Sell the company’s products and services
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Service Advisor is responsible for ensuring that they:
- Take necessary action to ensure customer satisfaction
- Writes customer and internal repair orders
- Quotes accurate customer repair costs
- Performs follow up phone calls on customers
- Schedules pickups/deliveries
- Acts as Service Manager in Service Manager’s absence (As requested)
- Maintains profitability of Service Department
- Performs follow up calls for Home Depot and Lowes customers
- Telemarketing annual maintenance
- Submits warranty registrations if not already registered for warranty purposes
- Submits all warranty claims in a timely manner
- Processes warranty claim payments
- Follows up on unpaid warranty claims
- Assists customers in loading/unloading of equipment to be worked on
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Use professional business judgment and be prepared to define plans, justify actions, and identify options as appropriate
- Deploy and maintain effective programs for direct business capture that are cost justified
- Meet assigned quotas
- Adhere to a proper business work ethic and create a similar expectation of your peers
- Possess knowledge of heavy equipment. Must have valid driver’s license.
AUTHORITIES:
The following are principal authorities granted to the Service Advisor:
- Exercise the responsibilities and perform the duties of this position. This includes full decision-making authority for all responsibilities and duties
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
The Service Advisor reports to the Service Manager
The following positions report directly to the Service Advisor: Others as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree in a business discipline preferred
- Experience: Must have at least 2-3 years work history in Service Department Operations
- Skills & Knowledge: Ability to use standard desktop operations such as Microsoft Office and internet functions. Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups. Familiar with Kubota and competitive products. Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Service Department Operations. Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports. Ability to work extended hours and weekends. Excellent customer service skills. Experience with power equipment operations needed. Must possess knowledge of heavy equipment. Must have valid driver’s license.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform normal walking and sitting. Must be able to see, hear and touch. Must be able to read and write fluent English. The position may involve operating power tools, lifting and moving equipment, and supplies with the associated injury hazards and requirements for use of related safety equipment.

The following will be used to evaluate the performance of the Service Advisor:

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
