Job Description:
The Data Engineer will be a part of our research support team and report to our Head of Data Engineering. This individual will lead our efforts to modernize and standardize our research pipelines and establish technical standards in support of data research and production efforts. In addition, your team will provide expertise on the use and leverage of the various data sets that we procure. You will represent the team to various stakeholders across the company and some business travel will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, mentor, and manage a team of data scientist engineers
- As a “player coach” you and your team will:
- Provide expert consulting on the use and leverage of our data sets
- Design, implement and deliver data analyses for internal customers
- Author data pipelines using software development best practices
- Plan technical projects from initial request to scheduling to final delivery
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree, or significant experience in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a similar quantitative discipline
- Expertise in data analysis, visualization, and engineering in a cloud environment (Python, Spark, AWS, Airflow, Snowflake)
- Strong people and management skills to interact with direct reports, clients, cross-functional teams and partners
- Experience with software development methods such as Scrum and TDD
- General project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Primary Location: New York, NY
Salary Range: $115,000-140,000 USD/Annual
The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications.
