Shell Construction (Slab/Block/Frame) Estimator

About the Role:

The Shell Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in the planning and budgeting phases of construction projects involving slab, block, and frame structures. This position requires a deep understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs to provide accurate estimates that align with project specifications and client expectations. The estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure that all estimates are comprehensive and competitive. By analyzing blueprints and specifications, the estimator will identify potential challenges and opportunities for cost savings. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to contribute to the successful execution of construction projects by providing precise and timely estimates that facilitate informed decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, specifically in shell construction.
• Experience with construction management software and estimating tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification from a recognized estimating organization

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather information and clarify project requirements.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for accurate estimating.
• Provide information to purchasing to assist in maintaining a database of costs for materials, labor, and equipment to ensure estimates are based on current market conditions.
• Present estimates to clients and stakeholders, providing explanations and justifications for costs.

The required skills for this position include strong analytical abilities to interpret complex construction documents and a keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates. Proficiency in construction management software is essential for creating and managing estimates efficiently.
