Summary
We are seeking a Construction Project Manager with a strong engineering background and diverse transportation project experience. In this role, you will oversee construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Estimating, scheduling and procurement experience is a must as well as a minimum of 10 years engineering experience and a strong roster of projects in the transportation sector including rail, bridges, roadways, and facilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop Project Management Plans covering conceptual development through construction completion, including staff budgets and baseline schedules for all project/program elements.
- Coordinate the implementation of the management plans and the work performed by all of the program and/or project members, as required.
- Coordinate bidding and award of construction projects.
- Monitor and report on consultant and contractor performance.
- Track and update project budget and schedule.
- Evaluate impact of changes on approved scope, schedule and budget and obtain approval for the change.
- Provide stakeholder coordination.
- Ensure that selected projects and/or programs are staffed and started as planned.
- Update program level schedules.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate M/WBE sub-contractor goals.
Requirements
· Minimum of 10 years engineering experience in the development, evaluation, and/or management of project procurement and construction services.
· In-depth knowledge of managing transportation relating projects, including Railroads, bridges, buildings, roadways and facilities.
· Experience in managing procurement phase activities and coordinating/supporting Procurement, Law, Line Department, TEC and other stakeholder departments.
- Experience with capital projects that involve design and construction elements including the monitoring and reporting of cost forecasts against budgets and the management of project schedules.
- Familiarity with coordinating and supporting engagement with operating Line Departments (s), Engineering staff (including Quality Assurance, Construction and Project Delivery Leadership), Authority tenants, contractors and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of capital planning and assessment, cost-benefit analysis, planning and evaluation, and risk management protocols.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments.
- Proficient in the use of software applications Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
