Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management and project management, with expertise in electrical systems and the National Electrical Code (NEC). As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in analyzing project specifications, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring that all projects are completed within budget and on schedule. Your ability to negotiate contracts and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders will be essential for success in this role.
Duties
- Review project plans and specifications to determine scope of work and required materials.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and overhead.
- Utilize construction estimating software such as Bluebeam to create detailed estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for estimating purposes.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets.
- Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid packages and responding to inquiries.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Familiarity with construction management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Experience using Service Titan or similar estimating software is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
