General Job Summary and Purpose
Supports the production department’s activities of designing, documenting, analyzing, manufacturing and testing electronic components, products, and systems including, evaluating new and existing products for ease of manufacture, and coordinating and monitoring material flow of parts through the organization by performing the following duties.
Job Task, Duties and Responsibilities
- Contributes to the design process on new projects
- Reviews existing designs and provides input on improvement.
- Interfaces with vendors for most cost-effective approaches on materials.
- Supervises the Organization and controls materials retained in M Wave’s stockroom.
- Informs management when component materials and delivery schedules don’t align.
- Independently resolves production, inventory planning, and forecasting issues.
- Develops, documents, and tests new and existing products and develops test procedures.
- Work with materials, manufacturing and purchasing departments in identifying and resolving production planning problems.
- Records and manages electronic data files.
- Documents, processes, and complete paperwork.
- Maintains training on critical processes and procedures.
Education and Experience
- Basic familiarity with passive Microwave test procedures, concepts, and equipment
- Knowledge of RF matching networks passive microwave components and waveguide theory
- BS or MS degree in engineering or hard science (Physics, Math, etc.) or 5 years of related experience and/or training
- Five to fifteen years’ experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and have basic interpretation of blueprints (detail part drawings).
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, create, and communicate technical procedures; competent at RF/ Microwave network analysis measurements.
- Ability to create & modify drawings (ACAD/ Solidworks).
- Ability to plan, organize, and schedule test and manpower based on product types.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors and customers.
- Ability to work with hands (dexterity) for assembly & test troubleshooting.
- Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.
- Follows instructions, responds to management direction, and takes responsibility for own actions.
- Keeps commitments and commits to additional hours of work when necessary to reach goals.
- Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Basic Computer literacy (Excel spreadsheets, Word Documents).
- Team player with a positive attitude and flexibility.
