Job Summary:
The Post-Harvest Lead plays a crucial role in overseeing and reinforcing M1 Industries' operational standards during all post-harvest activities. While this position does not involve managing direct reports, the Post-Harvest Lead is responsible for ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with M1 Industries' policies and regulations. The Lead works hands-on alongside the team, driving excellence in daily operations and maintaining a productive work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the point of contact during post-harvest tasks, ensuring team members follow procedures and meet quality standards.
- Reinforce M1 Industries' operational standards and drive the team to achieve task completion efficiently and effectively.
- Oversee and actively participate in all post-harvest activities, including:
- Hanging, bucking, drying, destemming, and trimming.
- Proper weighing, data recording, and batch tracking throughout the process.
- Monitoring and maintaining climate-controlled environments for drying operations, including temperature and humidity adjustments.
- Performing quality checks to ensure all products meet or exceed company standards.
- Ensure compliance with product tracking, security, and movement procedures, adhering to state regulations and company policies.
- Perform in-process and post-process quality assurance testing and visual inspections.
- Maintain proper organization and labeling of strains, batches, and corresponding numeric values to minimize mislabeling risks.
- Operate and maintain high-powered electric-driven machinery and other post-harvest equipment.
- Train team members on post-harvest processes and procedures as needed, ensuring proper adherence to company standards.
- Collaborate with supervisors to report progress, challenges, and opportunities for process improvement.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: 2 years of experience in the cannabis or agricultural industry preferred; prior experience in post-harvest or processing roles is an asset.
