What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carrier Relations Lead position at M2 Logistics, Inc.?
The Carrier Relations Lead is responsible for all aspects of strategically sourcing of capacity for an assigned account(s) and will act as an advocate for the customers supply chain to the carrier community in the marketplace on behalf of M2 Logistics, as well as championing the client internally. Through developing new and existing carrier relationships, the Carrier Relations Lead will work with the Account Manager to discover, develop, and implement solutions that meet/exceed internal growth expectations and external service/value add/client satisfaction expectations.
The Position:
- Consistent engagement with the Account Manager to understand growth opportunities, at risk situations, areas of focus for yield improvement, and forecasting
- Negotiate on a high level, booking trucks on loads in a profitable, efficient manner
- Resolve business escalation issues as they relate to ongoing carrier and customer retention
- Through proactive and ongoing conversations with new and existing carriers, present opportunities, develop creative solutions and help sell benefits of solution for presentation to customer
- Identify and implement dedicated or repeat carrier solutions into the POD business
- Continue to build consistent and reliable capacity around the POD network
- Partner with Market Leads to share opportunities and strategically influence for solutions through working with the carrier sales team
- Ensure that our Carrier Sales group has a solid understanding of the customer requirements so that they can successfully cover freight that gets allocated to the Market teams
- Work with Strategic Sourcing group as needed to source new capacity
- Work with Account Manager, Strategic Sourcing, and Pricing to strategically respond to customer bids

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of carrier interaction and procurement experience desirable.
- Passionate about problem solving, relationship building, and creating carrier loyalty.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Articulates thoughts and ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
