What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Material Handler position at M2S Group?
POSITION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Perform all essential functions required to support production operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Keep work orders up to date both on pick slip and computer
Complete accurate cycle counts
Use forklift to load and unload trucks
Maintain fork/clamp trucks (i.e. changing/filling propane bottles, check fluid levels, etc.)
Store raw materials in bins and place transfer in system correctly
Troubleshoot transfers
Keep production machines stocked with material and have all materials prepared for Operator to run job
Maintain raw material areas
Use clamp truck to stock presses when large rolls required
Fill out Material Rejection Forms and distribute to appropriate people
Maintain inventory through cycle counts
Responsible for cleanliness and organization of receiving area
Follow all facility safety policies, procedures and reporting protocols
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Have the ability to work cooperatively with others
Previous forklift experience in a manufacturing setting
Contributes to a team effort by proactiely assisting internal contacts
Attend training programs to develop relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills
Basic computer and math skills, ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and bar graphs
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
Ability to work extended hours as required
Ability to handle multiple tasks with varying deadlines
Ability to work with extremely confidential information/situations and maintain confidentiality
Excellent oral and written communications skills through all levels of management
Communicate ideas concisely and effectively in oral and written form, including preparation and delivery of production meeting on assigned shift.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
Forklift experience/certification in a manufacturing environment
