Position Overview :
Our client is seeking a dynamic Chief Compliance & Quality Officer to lead their compliance, quality, and training initiatives! This pivotal role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations while driving a culture of excellence. As both the Corporate Compliance Officer and HIPAA Privacy Officer, this leader will oversee policies, investigations, reporting, and risk management initiatives, ensuring the highest standards of integrity and care.
As a key member of the Executive Management Team, this individual will work closely with leadership to champion regulatory compliance, spearhead quality improvement efforts, and reinforce the organization’s mission and values. Key Responsibilities :
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
Serve as the Corporate Compliance Officer, ensuring the organization’s compliance with all applicable regulations and laws.
Develop, implement, and oversee the Corporate Compliance Program, including policies, reporting mechanisms, and investigative procedures.
Maintain oversight of state-mandated reporting systems, ensuring incidents, allegations, and internal events are documented and addressed appropriately.
Conduct compliance investigations as necessary and prepare detailed reports with findings and recommendations.
Provide regular updates to the Board of Directors, including training and status reports on compliance matters.
Quality & Risk Management
Lead the development and execution of the agency-wide Quality Improvement Plan.
Oversee the Quality Improvement Committee and ensure compliance with safety and quality assurance policies.
Act as the primary representative for regulatory agency communications, corrective actions, and quality-related compliance matters.
Ensure protection from abuse, neglect, mistreatment, and exploitation, adhering to all related policies.
HIPAA & Data Privacy
Serve as the HIPAA Privacy Officer, ensuring proper handling of protected health information (PHI).
Oversee privacy policies, disclosures, authorizations, and training related to PHI.
Work closely with IT staff to implement and manage electronic record-keeping systems.
Training & Development
Oversee the organization’s orientation and training programs, ensuring staff are well-versed in compliance, incident reporting, and quality assurance.
Develop and present training sessions on corporate compliance, HIPAA, and abuse prevention.
Leadership & Strategic Collaboration
Supervise and provide guidance to the Vice President of Corporate Compliance & Quality Assurance.
Work collaboratively with leadership teams to enhance compliance and quality initiatives.
Support agency-wide goals and contribute to strategic planning.
Qualifications :
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations governing human services and developmental disabilities programs.
Experience managing compliance investigations, reporting, and risk assessments.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative team environment.
Proficiency in data management and electronic record systems.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; advanced degree (e.g., Master’s, J.D., Ph.D.) preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare, human services, or a related field.
Experience working with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) required.
Prior experience interacting with regulatory agencies and managing compliance programs.
Compensation : Base salary of $150,000-160,000
