Position Overview:
We are seeking a results-driven new business Sales Executive to drive revenue growth in the Military and Department of Defense (DOD) sector. This role is ideal for a high-energy, strategic sales professional with a deep understanding of government procurement processes, defense contracting and military requirements. You will be responsible for identifying, developing and closing new business opportunities with the U.S. military, defense agencies and defense contractors.
To succeed in this position, candidates should have exceptional communication, computer, and problem-solving skills. You should be resourceful, adaptable, and organized with the ability to build rapport with clients.
Primary Essential Job Duties:
New Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the Military and DOD sector, including direct sales to government agencies, partnerships and prime defense contractors.
Sales Strategy Execution: Develop and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers, procurement officers, and end-users withing military branches and defense agencies.
Government Contracting Expertise: Navigate the complexities of government procurement, including responding to RFP's, RFI's and RFQ's and working within FAR/DFAR regulations.
Industry Engagement: Stay informed about industry AV trends, government budgets, and emerging defense technologies to position the company's offerings effectively
Sales Leadership & Strategy
- Demonstrate value and strategic selling principles encompassing prospecting, needs analysis, pipeline development, deal management, milestone attainment and closing prowess
- Communicate and articulate the value of M3 Technology Groups’ products and services with the ability to negotiate favorable terms
- Develop and implement efficient, effective business plans and market strategies with the Sales leadership to identify and close sales opportunities
- Achieve or exceed monthly and annual sales goals
- Follow industry trends and new technologies for professional growth and education
Customer Relationship Management
- Manage your schedule. Excellent time management skills and the ability to independently use judgment to prioritize and plan are critical
- Possess strong inter-personal communication and relationship skills, specifically relating to stress management, customer management, and conflict resolution
- Cultivate new business; establish and develop business relationships leading to design/bid opportunities; You will also be cold calling and following up on company generated lead
- Continually build a network and develop additional sales channel contacts; this may include participation in seminars and trade shows at the local and national level
Sales Reporting & Analysis
- Develop and deliver accurate and timely technical sales proposals which employ M3 brand standards for services presentation
- Responsible for inputting and ensuring accurate data within CRM database
Collaboration & Cross-functional Communications
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure that systems are configured to customer requirements and specifications
- Foster collaborative working relationships with sales, service, marketing, product development and field resources
- Participate and actively contribute to sales meetings, training seminars, and coaching activities, as requested by the sales manager
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strategic, consultative, and/or solutions-oriented sales experience with both C-level executives and end-users is a plus
- Exceptional oral and written communication and presentations skills
- Excellent active listening skills
- Consistent track record of owning goals and surpassing them
- Ability to interpret customers’ business needs and match the appropriate solutions
- Self-motivated and appreciates a team environment
- Prior commercial AV system sales experience (video conferencing, digital signage, distributed video/sound, presentation systems) is a plus
- Work cooperatively with others and foster a strong team first mentality
- Regular and predictable attendance as scheduled
Qualifications and Experience
- 7 - 10 years proven experience in B2G (Business-to-Government) sales or selling into the Military and DOD space.
- Strong knowledge of government procurement processes, defense contracting and compliance requirements.
- Establish relationships with the military and Defense sector preferred.
- Strong negotiation, presentation and communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to pass drug screen and background check
- Travel to include vehicle and air transport beyond the market area
