Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in apartment and property maintenance, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various equipment and facilities. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance tasks, ensuring that all systems are functioning efficiently and safely. Emphasis on plumbing experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on apartment units, common areas, and building structures.
- Conduct plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, unclogging drains, and other plumbing-related tasks.
- Respond to and complete work orders from residents and management promptly and professionally.
- Assist in the turnover process by preparing vacant units for new residents, including minor repairs, painting, and appliance installation.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and safety of the property, including basic groundskeeping and exterior maintenance.
- Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist in emergency situations, including after-hours maintenance calls, as needed.
- Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, and report any shortages to management.
- Safely operate and transport materials using a trailer when necessary.
- Work collaboratively with other maintenance team members and property staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in apartment or property maintenance.
- Must have plumbing repair knowledge and experience handling common plumbing issues.
- General knowledge of carpentry, painting, and basic maintenance repairs.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must have experience pulling a trailer.
- Must have a smartphone to receive work orders and communicate with management.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work on-call for emergency maintenance situations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather.
- Climb ladders, work at heights, and perform physical labor such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
